Mobile Game Roundup: Gnomium: Pocket Edition, Punch Club and More
Are you looking for a new mobile game to play this weekend? There are lots of new options for you to try, including Smurfs Epic Run, a level-based running game from Ubisoft. The game challenges players to free the Smurfs from a fog released by Gargamel.
In addition, Disruptor Beam has released its newest game: Star Trek Timelines. The strategy RPG allows players to collect characters from the Star Trek universe, and asks them to investigate temporal anomalies which are causing multiple timelines to merge into one.

Gnomium: Pocket Edition (Free on iOS) – From Retrodigio, this arcade word game asks players to earn points by removing letter tiles from the screen. Rather than asking players to find words themselves, the game connects letters into words automatically, allowing players to tap to remove them from the screen. Players can clear a limited number of tiles from the board before each game ends, and can open treasure chests while playing to increase this number. In addition to letter tiles, the board may contain coins, gems and tools for removing special kinds of letter tiles, among other items. Players can swap the locations of individual tiles, or move whole rows and columns to change the board's layout.
Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories ($9.99 on iOS) – This life simulation game from Natsume asks players to revive a farm and collect ‘seeds of memories' by completing tasks like interacting with villagers, catching fish and raising animals. The game also includes activities like cooking, foraging and mining, and allows players to upgrade their tools to find higher quality items. In addition, a marriage system allows players to marry one of ten marriage candidates (five men and five women). Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories is expected to launch on Android this Spring.
Wonder Tactics (Free on iOS, Android) – From Com2uS, this action RPG allows players to collect over 250 heroes and take them into battles to defeat enemies. During each battle, heroes attack enemies automatically, leaving players to activate their heroes' special abilities when they're available. In between battles, players can equip their characters with upgradeable items, and can also evolve their heroes over time.
I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream ($3.99 on iOS, Android) – From DotEmu and Night Dive Studios, this point-and-click adventure game was first released on PC in 1995. The game sees players guide the world's last survivors through a post-apocalyptic world after a supercomputer named AM destroys humanity. For this mobile release, players can change between ‘touch' mode and ‘classic' mode at any time.
Make the Cut (Free on iOS, Android, Amazon) – This puzzle game from Gameblend Studios challenges players to fill the gaps between blocks at the bottom of the screen by tapping to create a new blog which will fall into the gap from above. To be specific, a line moves back and forth across the screen automatically, and players must tap twice to cut a block using this line. If the block fits into the space at the bottom of the screen, players earn points and the game continues. When players fail to make a shape that fits inside the gap, the game ends. Players can collect gems as they play, which can be spent on scratch-off tickets. These tickets reward players with prizes like keys, which can be used to unlock an additional gameplay mode (the default mode is ‘endless').
The Pit (Free on iOS, Android) – From Ketchapp, this endless survival game challenges players to survive as long as possible by tapping or tapping and holding on the screen to make their character jump over or slide under obstacles, respectively. Players can collect coins as they run, which can be spent on new playable characters. Gamers can earn additional coins by watching video ads when these opportunities are presented.
MMA Federation (Free on iOS, Android) – This turn-based fighting game from 360 Studios allows players to create and customize their own MMA fighter, and take them into both single-player and real-time multiplayer matches. During each fight, players spend stamina to select attack and defense moves with the goal of draining their opponent's health. Players can customize their fighters with different fighting styles, like boxing and Muay Thai, as examples. The game features real-world MMA fighters that aren't signed to the UFC.
Bleach: Brave Souls (Free on iOS, Android) – From KLab Games, Bleach: Brave Souls is based on the Japanese manga and anime Bleach. The hack-n-slash game sees players complete missions by dragging their finger on the screen to move and rapidly tapping buttons to attack. Players begin with a single hero, but can collect more over time, and can swap between three heroes during missions. Players can upgrade their heroes' stats via skill trees, and can equip their characters with new accessories as they progress.
Punch Club ($4.99 on iOS) – From tinyBuild, Punch Club is a boxing management simulation game, which challenges players to find their father's killer while training in one of multiple ‘Ways,' like the Way of the Turtle or Way of the Tiger, as examples. The game features multiple endings, and asks players to balance their friendships, love life, gym time and more.
