Tumblr Adds GIF Button, More to iOS App

Tumblr has released the latest update for its iOS app, which introduces multiple features, including the GIF button, to users. The GIF button allows users to search for GIFs originally posted by other Tumblr users, and share them in their own posts. This feature was previously released for Tumblr's Web and Android users.

Now, when iOS users want to share a GIF in a new post or a reblog, they can tap the GIF button and search for a GIF to insert in their post. The user who originally posted the GIF will be credited automatically in the new post, and will be notified that their GIF has been used.

Elsewhere, this update adds the ability for users to reply to a message by swiping on its push notification. Finally, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users have access to 3D Touch controls like peeking to preview a Tumblr profile and popping to open the full page. Users can swipe up on the screen while peeking to send a user a message.

Tumblr is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store.
